Footprints in the Sand Mary Stevenson
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me
always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?
The Lord replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
my child, is when I carried you.”
Love them anyway
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be
shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may
be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have
and you might get kicked in the teeth.

Corinthians chapter 13
If I speak in tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge
and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give up all I possess and surrender my body to the flames, but have not
love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient; love is kind; it does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud.
It is not rude; it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; it keeps no record
of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will pass away;
where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge it will
pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes,
the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like

When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection, then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is
love.
